With the new school year comes lots of requests. We work year-round to add new music each week. But there still may be something new you want. The fastest way to add music to your station is to use the music library search function. When you go to the music request page, look for the dark blue bar in the middle of the music library section. There you can search by artist or title. You can even type in the first few letters in one of those fields and get a list from which you can choose a song. You will see whether it’s in our library or on the “Not Approved” list. If it’s in our library, you can add it to your station directly from there. It’s simple and fast.
However, whether it’s a new song or it’s already on the “Not Approved” list, do not turn in a request asking for the “clean” version of the song. We try to make sure any requested song is “clean.” If it’s on the “Not Approved” list we’ve already tried that and couldn’t find a way to make the song fit into the parameters of our music policy. Most “clean” versions just mask bleep or mask out profanity, but often leave in other issues like alcohol and drugs. If we can clean it, we will.
If it’s not found at all on the library, skip to the yellow box and request it. There it will go through our normal review process where we try to turn around songs as fast as we can. Usually in a few business days, unless there are an unusually large number of requests.
